Frenectomy

Circumcision is a dental treatment that removes gum tissue above an unerupted or partially erupted tooth. Wisdom teeth are common areas affected by this problem.

If there is a partially erupted tooth within your oral cavity, you will notice a piece of gum tissue (operculum) that goes above it, under which food and bacteria are tucked. This space is very difficult to access during cleaning, but also through the mechanisms of self-cleaning, so inflammation (pericoronitis) often occurs.

When we talk about treatment of the problem, mostly, such a tooth needs to be removed, because it can lead to serious problems, but with the right help and expertise, sometimes it is only necessary to remove the soft tissue above the tooth that is bothering.

Contact our dentist at DOC Bandić, who will based on a clinical examination and analysis of your tooth X-ray, assess which therapeutic procedure will adequately solve your problem.

Procedure that resolves gum inflammation

It is a simple surgical procedure that serves as therapy for pericoronitis (inflammation of the gums above the unerupted tooth). It is done under local anesthesia, lasts twenty minutes, and usually goes without, or with very mild discomfort through our practice.

Pain and swelling of the mucous membrane will decrease in a few days as part of normal body processes, and the tooth will erupt after a certain time when conditions are created for it.

Modern dentistry practiced at DOC Bandić will assist in the therapeutic process, and relying on appropriate surgical procedures and the application of local anesthesia and sedation, will enable painless oral surgical intervention with minimal trauma to surrounding tissues and rare postoperative complications that have already become a thing of the past.
